About the blog: SaintlySages blog and @SaintlySages on Twitter offers daily excerpts of the sayings and writings of Catholic saints and sages whose words educate, edify, and provide food for meditation and spiritual growth. Many of the texts come from three saints and those who reflect their teachings. Which three? And why? St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226), because his words are thought-provoking and challenging; St. Thomas Aquinas (1226-74), because his teaching is so systematic and rational; and St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622), because his spiritual advice is so gentle and practical.
About the blogger: I have served in various teaching and liturgical ministries, and now at SaintlySages. I hold a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Theology, having studied at Duquesne Univ. in Pittsburgh, PA, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD, and Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, CT. I hope to put my training to good use by selecting texts that express sound Catholic teaching.
About you: You’ve found us. You’re here! Please consider yourself a member of the SaintlySages family. May SaintlySages be a place where we feel at home, where we benefit from the wisdom of saints and sages who have traveled the same road through life as we now travel, where we members of the human family, and especially, of the SaintlySages family, support each other with our prayers. God bless!
